Story of the cold winter’s night,
The time they summoned me as a child;
Wrapped in my mother’s arm,
Heart filled with eternal bliss and calm.
Swarm of fireflies taking errand,
On the garden where we stand;
Behind the tree they set up the firewood,
With sounds of laughter,
Reached a sweet aroma of food.
What a night! A pure elegance,
A gift to us, from the creator’s hand.
Under the magical starry sky,
Every glimpse, blessing to the eye.
Swinging branches of big banana tree,
Oh! How they danced, like dolphins at the sea.
Feebly flowing water down the river,
Hums the melody in the pristine chamber.
I matched the rhythm of my eyelid,
To the flickering light on distant rye field.
My eyes in unison with the scene,
As it often happens in a dream.
Wow! If only I could live like I wish,
One jump and straight on the moon;
There, with my friends play hide and seek,
Return when sun shines effacing the gloom.
Wearing a long cloak up to my knee,
Waving goodbye to the dancing tree,
Near to my father playing cards with glee,
Cherishing the theme ‘Life is a mystery!’
